What can you do on the WTD micro site?
16 August 2010
The World Thinking Day website has exciting new functionality to help you raise awareness of the situation for many girls and young women and also celebrate international Girl Guiding and Girl Scouting.
These are some of the new things you can do:
- Upload pictures of your national uniforms and share it with Girl Guides and Girl Scouts all over the world. Participate and make this section a great pool of uniforms!
- Add your World Thinking Day activities to our new global map! Send us details and a picture of your activity and it will appear on the map. You will also be able to see what other Girl Guides and Girl Scouts have done around the globe!
- Send an online 2011 World Thinking Day card! Just select the language (English, French or Spanish) and enter the email addresses of friends and family you want to send it to. At the same time, you can show your support for WAGGGS and contribute to the WTD theme, girls worldwide say “empowering girls will change our world,” by donating £1, $1 or €1.

Dear Friends,
As we celebrate this Years'world thinking day, let us reflect deeply on what we can do to help the millions of girls and young women world wide that have been victims of rape, physical abuse and all forms of sexual exploitation. I believe that the only sure way to promote gender equality and empower girls and young women is by putting a stop to the silence of injustice to girls and women in our society. We need to do more than echo in the vacuim. If ten million voices could speak, ten million more could be saved from being the next victims.

Dear guides!
I'm the international project coordinator of Minyons Escoltes i Guies de Catalunya (Catalonia-Spain) and we would like to share with you our calendar 2010-2011 in order to participate in the World Thinking Day. The topic of the calendar is about "Gender equality and empowering women". We have the PDF of the calendar and if you want to, we would be very pleasant to share it with you in order to upload it in the website of the WAGGGS.
Please, contact with us if you want to participate on that!
Yours in guiding!
Alba Lorente
