World Thinking Day: One month to go
23 January 2012
With one month left to go until World Thinking Day, it is time to think about what activities you can do to celebrate the day and work towards this year's theme of "We can save our planet".
World Thinking Day happens on 22 February. It is the day when Girl Guides and Girl Scouts think about their international sisters, as well as celebrating and giving thanks for the international Girl Guiding and Girl Scouting Movement.
This year's World Thinking Day is themed around UN Millennium Development Goal 7: environmental sustainability, so WAGGGS is asking you to mark the day with activities focused on the environment.
"We can save our planet"
Here are some ideas to help you prepare for your World Thinking Day celebrations:
- Explore the World Thinking Day website to learn more about the day.
- Use our World Thinking Day Activity Pack to plan what you will do on 22 February. When you have decided, share your plans with other Girl Guides and Girl Scouts by posting them on our activity map.
- Think about how you could raise money on World Thinking Day to help sustain the Girl Guiding and Girl Scouting Movement. Try out our fundraising ideas, or ask people to donate small amounts through our Facebook page.
- Learn more about our focus countries Guyana, Japan, Ivory Coast, Russia and Tunisia by reading our webpages about them.
- Share your thoughts and plans for World Thinking Day by using the Twitter hashtag #GirlsSaveOurPlanet.

Here in Micronesia we have had a slow sart in getting going, but we are so inspired by the theme and all the ideas that we are going to have our opening day on Thinking Day with a friendship garden we will all bring a plant and share conservation information. Thank you everyone who works on this project. We don't always know the good we do because yelling is louder than smiles. Great work thank you for the smiles. We can do it, we can svae the planet if we start right now.
